The letters and words we learned this week...

Kia Ora Parents/Caregivers/Guardians and Whānau,

Room 19 had a busy and fun this week with learning literacy. We learnt about the letter S, A and T this week and here are some of the words the children choose to represent that learning:

We also started our guided reading sessions this week, which is our first full week back. The students of Room 19 have been bringing home their book bags, home links book and their leveled readers. This will continue for the rest of the term. Parents please ensure that you take time to read with your children, looking at the pictures as well as the text (because the pictures help students build connections with the words in the story) and asking them questions which will help them build their comprehension skills. If you could also sign the reading log at the back of the home links books, that would be very much appreciated.

Have a great weekend, and stay tuned for our next blog posts - as we have a sportacular week coming up starting Monday with our school wide soccer taster!
